Scrappy Monet Lap Quilt

Just a small lap quilt I made from leftover Monet fabric from a previous Monet quilt.  Unfortunately I made a big "Oops" when sewing the blocks together though.  I have no idea how I overlooked this, but notice the layout of the blocks?  Well, they are not in the order they were when I laid them out prior to sewing them together.  I am so disgusted with myself for not noticing this until it was too late.  Ah well...at least the fabrics are pretty!  :o/

Simply Girly...

Just a simple throw I made from fabric a friend of mine bought.

She will be giving it as a gift to a relative of hers.

Made from two cotton printed fabrics and pink trim.

No filler or batting used.

Very simple and fun to make!

Fruit Basket Quilt Block

My attempt at making a Fruit Basket quilt block for the very first time didn't turn out too bad!

This quilt features fabrics with Monet painting scenes on it.

I used a green plush panel for the back of the quilt.

I used buttons on the front, and yarn tied them on, knotting the yarn on the green side of the quilt.

Queensrÿche 30-yr Tour...A concert revisited...

May 18, 1991 I went to Green Bay, WI to see Queensrÿche perform at Brown County Arena. I was with my high school sweetheart and a couple of his friends. They normally tried to get as close to the stage as possible, but with me along they respected my fear of getting trampled or squished, so we sat in the bleachers, which was not so crowded, however the band members appeared small and hard to see. 

20 years later...

Queensrÿche 30th Anniversary Tour Concert
with one of my best friends, Rich.

Rich and I have been friends for over 15 years...done a lot of partying together in our younger years, but this was the first concert we ever went to together. And it was a blast!!!

Queensrÿche put on one heck of a concert!

This time around, however, I made sure I was close to the stage. We were only 2 people back from the gate that separated the crowd from the stage. It was phenominal being able to actually see Geoff Tate's expressions as he performed! And he still has that one-of-a-kind, one hell of a voice!

Queensrÿche performed at The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee, WI on Sunday, August 21st, 2011.
I took a few pictures with my phone, but they all turned out too blurry. If you click on The Rave/Eagles Club, which I've attached a link to, it will take you to the concert pictures taken by a professional photographer, which were taken at this specific concert.

They put on a fantastic opening performance!

EAA AirVenture Quilt Block Contest

This is the first year I joined the EAA AirVenture Quilt Block Contest, submitting a the very first quilt block I've ever made in my life!  I thought it would be a fun challenge, and I'm so glad I decided to do it.  Although I didn't place, my quilt block is still hanging on the EAA AirVenture Museum wall with 19 other quilt blocks.  Makes me proud to know my work is hanging up among other gorgeous aviation themed quilt blocks!  Here are a few pictures from when I was at the museum a few days ago...

EAA AirVenture 2011 - Oshkosh, WI - USA

This week in Oshkosh, WI is the annual EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) AirVenture and Air Show.  (This year is their 100th anniversary, too). 

My dad, Greg Klemp, Sr., owner of Sheer Technologies,  is a pilot as well as a dealer for Challenger aircraft.  He has a booth at the EAA every year.  My parents have a small landing strip in their back yard as well as dad's hangar, which he rents out to other pilots for their Challenger aircraft.
The annual EAA is a big deal to my dad and to many of his colleagues.
